1.       Lots of space. While you may not think reptiles need a lot of space to move around, the truth is no living creature likes to feel cramped. By purchasing a custom cage, you can be sure to find a large reptile enclosure that’s just right for your lizard or gecko.

2.       Room to exercise. Most people don’t automatically assume reptiles need exercise. But they do. If you purchase glass reptile cages or an acrylic cage, be sure the enclosure is large enough for your bird to hunt his prey and move around a bit. Many reptiles receive the most exercise during feeding time. If you place live crickets in their large reptile enclosure, your pet will have to chase them down to eat them.

3.       Room for privacy. Lizards, geckos and snakes are private animals. They like to burrow deep in the sand or hide behind rocks for hours on end. Try to find big cages that enable you to set up several hiding places in your large reptile enclosure.
