Cat Tree House
Purchasing a new pet cat or kitty is a lot like having a toddler in the house. It’s fun and challenging! Just like you need to work with your toddler to teach them good manners and proper behavior, you must do the same thing with your pet cat or kitty. Unless you want your pet to grow up to be ill-mannered, you should begin training sessions as soon as you bring your pet home. While it may seem cute and innocent when your kitty hides in his cat tree house or cat outdoor run when strangers approach, such anti-social behavior is not ideal for an adult cat. Your cat tree house should be a place for your cat to play and have fun. It is perfectly okay for your pet to retreat to his cat outdoor run or outdoor cat enclosures when he is feeling overwhelmed. But you should not encourage your pet to avoid all contact with strangers.
Here are a few things you should start teaching your kitty or pet cat right away.
- How to wear a collar. As your cat grows up, it is always a good idea for him to wear some type of collar, even when he is in his cat tree house or cat outdoor run. A collar can serve as a means of identification if you attach an ID tag to it. If your pet somehow escapes from his outdoor cat run or outdoor cat enclosures, whoever finds him will be able to identify you as the owner. Additionally, it may be necessary for your cat to wear a flea collar to keep these pesky creatures off his fur. Nothing is more uncomfortable for your pet than having a cat tree house or cat tree houses that are infested with fleas.
Teaching Your Pet Proper Manners in His Cat Tree House
- How to use a litter box. One thing you never want is a pet cat that uses his cat tree house as a litter box. Although most cats won’t mess in their own nesting box, it is always a good idea to teach your pet where to relieve himself. Place a litter box close to your pet’s cat tree houses or somewhere in his cat outdoor run. If your kitty starts to mess in his cat tree house or some other inappropriate place, gently pick him up and place him in the litter box. Praise your kitty when he goes potty in the right place. Cats are smart and it won’t take your pet cat long to figure out what the litter box is for.
- How to get along with others. If you want your pet cat to be a part of your family, you will have to teach him how to get along with others. Even if your kitty is shy, he must learn that he cannot always hide from guests in his cat tree house or outdoor cat enclosures. With a little bit of socialization, your pet cat will warm up to family members, friends and other animals. Socializing your pet kitten is one of the most important aspects of training. If your pet grows up without learning proper social skills, he will be skittish, shy and extremely timid. This means your kitty will miss out on some of the greatest joys of life. Work extra hard to help your kitty learn to love the social life!
