Cat Outdoor Run

After bringing your new cat home, it will be time to get down to the knitty-gritty of owning a kitty. The day-to-day details are always the most enjoyable, but often the most challenging. For example, trying to decide where your pet should sleep can take some figuring. Should your new cat sleep in his outdoor cat run? On the bedroom floor? Or on top of your own bed? There is no easy answer. A lot of it depends on your personal preferences. Some cat owners think of their pet as an “animal” who should sleep in his cat outdoor run or on a bed next to his cat scratch post. Dealing with cat hair in their own bed is simply overwhelming and even downright disgusting.

But not everyone feels that way. The majority of cat owners don’t want their pet to sleep in their cat outdoor run or cat run. In fact, they don’t even want them to sleep on a cat perch or cat bed near their cat scratch post. For these devoted pet parents, their bed is an open door to their kitty.

Should Your Cat Sleep in His Cat Outdoor Run

Most cats will have absolutely no problem burrowing under your covers next to your head or feet. But there are a few reasons why it may be better for your cat to sleep in his cat run or cat runs, instead of in your bed.

  • Cats tend to be most active at night. Felines spend an exorbitant amount of time sleeping during the day. No doubt you’ve noticed your pet napping for hours on his cat perch or in his car outdoor run. He may wake up for a short time, use his cat scratch post, groom his coat and then take another snooze. Cats are predators by nature. In the wild, their prey is most active at night. And so are cats. They hunt, explore and stalk during the evening hours. If you allow your pet cat to sleep in your bed instead of in his cat outdoor run or cat run, you may find yourself constantly being awakened by your cat’s antics. He may howl, whine, scratch, or race around the room. By placing your cat in his cat outdoor run or cat run at night, he will have the freedom to explore and burn off his energy without disturbing you.

  • A cat in your bed can be uncomfortable. When your cat sleeps with you, instead of in his cat run or on a cat perch, he can be a hindrance to a good night’s rest. Some cats may like to snuggle. This means you may find your cat trying to curl up around your neck or even on your head. He may paw your chest or burrow so tightly next to you that you fear you will squash him. All of these issues do not make for a restful evening. If you place your cat in his cat outdoor run or cat run for the night, he can curl up on his own private bed and you can both sleep peacefully and comfortably through the night. Plus your pet will be free to get up and move around whenever he pleases without disturbing your slumber.
