Cat Fencing

The thought of losing your cat is every pet owner’s worst nightmare. However, it is true that cats tend to be escape artists. They can climb over nearly anything and squeeze through incredibly small crevices. If your does manage to wiggle his way out of your cat fencing or outdoor cat cages, there are several things you can do to ensure that your cat returns home quickly and safely.

In the first place, you should act immediately. As soon as you notice that there is a hole in your cat fencing or outdoor cat cage and that your pet is gone, spring into action. Try to determine at what time of day your pet escaped from his cat fencing or outdoor cat enclosures. Was he inside the cat fencing when you fed him breakfast? How long ago was that? What time is it now? The quicker you realize that your pet has escaped the better the outcome.

Before launching a search party, you should determine your cat’s age, fitness level and curiosity level. Is your cat old and sluggish? More than likely he just wandered out of his cat fencing and into the neighbor’s yard where he is happily resting under a bush. In this case, there is no need to alert every shelter within 50 miles that your pet cat has escaped from his cat fencing.

However, if you have a younger, more agile and extremely curious young cat, it may be a different story. As soon as he was out of his cat fencing or outdoor cat cage, this kitty may have started trotting down the road without stopping.

When Your Pet Escapes from His Cat Fencing

If you are concerned that your cat has wandered more than a few blocks from home, develop a solid plan for bringing him home. Here are some tips:

  • Talk to all your neighbors, friends & family members. Alert anyone and everyone that your pet cat has vanished from his cat fencing. If these people know your cat, ask them to help you explore the neighborhood in search of fluffy.

  • Hang up posters. If you cannot find any trace of your pet around your home and neighborhood, posters are the next step. Create a large poster with a bold headline and picture of your pet. You may also want to offer a reward for anyone who helps you safely return your pet cat to his outdoor cat cage or cat fencing.

  • Call shelters & veterinarians. Alert these places that your pet has escaped from his outdoor cat cages or cat fencing. Provide them with a description, contact number and picture of your pet. You may also want to mail your poster to all veterinarians and shelters within a 20-mile radius of your home.

Don’t ever give up hope! With a little bit of luck and a lot of help from others, your kitty will soon be back in his cat fencing or outdoor cat cages safe and sound.
