 Conure Cage

So you’ve decided to get a conure, which obviously means you need a conure cage to house your pet. You also need a host of other bird-supplies to keep your feathered friend happy. Before making this type of investment in a parrot, be sure you are willing to spend the necessary time and money to adequately care for your bird.

Let’s face it, not everyone is cut out to be a bird owner. Here are 3 types of people who should never get a bird:

1.       People who don’t want to spend money.

Birds cost money. Before even purchasing your parrot you will need to invest in a birdcage, bird-supplies and other accessories. Unlike an African Grey cage or a macaw cage, a conure cage can be relatively small and fit easily in an apartment or rental home. Nevertheless you should still plan on spending a decent chunk of change to provide your feathered friend with a comfy bird cage.

2.       People who don’t like noise.

It’s a fact of life. Parrots make noise. And conures in particular are known for shrieking, screaming, talking and singing excessively. If you can’t stand excessive chatter, don’t even consider a parrot, much less a conure.

3.       People who don’t like maintenance.

Birds require work. The conure cage needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. The birdcage may need to be disassembled on occasion to be thoroughly disinfected. The feeders in your conure cage will need to be filled and re-filled. And the perches in the birdcage will also need to be occasionally spot-cleaned.

Finding an Easy-to-Maintain Conure Cage

While all of this may sound like a lot of work, the good news is there are birdcages on the market that are relatively easy to maintain. You can find a decently-priced conure cage from Cages By Design. These birdcages also have many convenient features that help cut down your workload. Even their large bird aviaries come with pull out floors and trays, which makes cleaning a lot easier. It is also a good idea to purchase disposable liners for your conure cage.  Simply lay these liners in the bottom of the birdcage floor. Each day remove the soiled liner and replace it with a fresh one. You can also purchase special dishes with seed catcher s. The seed catchers help your bird keep his food in the bowl instead of spreading them all over their conure cage.

There are lots of options to keeping your parrot cage clean and sanitary. Research all your options before purchasing a parrot. In this way, you won’t be in for any surprises. Instead you’ll be fully prepared for the ups and downs of bird ownership!
